Embassy of Ireland Empty Re: Embassy of Ireland

First of all, let me welcome you to the ePhilippines! It's great to have your nation represented in our nation. If you don't mind, I'm going to go ahead and ask a question that's been itching in the back of my mind :)

It is from my understanding that, initially, Ireland voted to join the Sol wargames, and then after that voted to join the PEACE ones.

1. If both plans were accepted, why were not both games joined?
2. If one overrules the other, why was the Sol vote accepted and then ignored? I trust your congress discussed both the Sol and PEACE games, and chose one over the other, only to then change opinion in a second (then unneeded) vote?

If I've gotten anything wrong let me know, but I'm just curious as to how that ended up happing :)

From what I gather it was cheaper for Ireland to particpate in the PEACE wargames due to the large number of participants. As to why we didn't join the SOL wargames, it is because it was deemed that there would be enough battles to adequitely supply the people of Ireland with experience. Hopefully that answered your questions.

Hello ePhilippines,

I am 05637716, more commonly known as Digits. I have just been appointed as Ambassador to the Philippines, with a view to improving ties, both economic and social, between Ireland and the Philippines. As my signature suggests, I've been around a while now, so feel free to come and chat with me. I'll be hanging out here and on your IRC for a while. Looking forward to meeting you.

Yes, Sagers 2.0 was banned for multi-accounting. A shame really.

To answer your questions above:

1. If both plans were accepted, why were not both games joined?

We were only ever going to join one set of war games. The first vote was in favour of joining Sol. The next thing that happened is that we switched forums at short notice, and the President posted a vote to join the PEACE games, disregarding the earlier vote. Before we knew it, we had signed a contract with PEACE which we are now committed to.

2. If one overrules the other, why was the Sol vote accepted and then ignored? I trust your congress discussed both the Sol and PEACE games, and chose one over the other, only to then change opinion in a second (then unneeded) vote?

I hope you can use your imagination. We have certainly been forced to.
