[POLL] SEA Merger

Well, basically I've seen posts from eMY that they do not want to give up their country for pride and honor. Also, they have the highest population thats why they should be the host country.

Most of us are AOK with this merger just because we are going to be the host country for it. So the question is, if ever we aren't the host country for SEA, are you still ok for that?

If you answer No, please give a brief explanation on why you are against it ?

Malaysia is a good country, and I would not object. However, due to the TOers, I think it possibly would be best if we hosted, as well as costs and considering their problems with leadership and organization, I would not overly recommend it. But I would still be in favor of SEA. Ironically, the best nation to host this--Philippines--is the only nation willing to give up their land and name

best option is ePH...

but if they want to host.. let them host it... just wanted the merge to push thru it will be awesome :) i dont care what country all i care is to make us more powerful and stable economy...

If this is just all about keeping a name that was taken from a dull and unproductive
king, then by god proceed with the merge and I'll be much happier for the favor.

@Erion: the question here is not what are the status, but if we are willing to drop "Philippines" off the map for the merger. It could be singapore, or malaysia. But for the sake of the argument, I'm going for Malaysia here.

The merger of 3 countries is good, who ever the host will be.
But as what we read in some articles, ePH is still the best option to be the host.

And on a personal note, I would like that ePH will be the host not just because of the name, but also because all my companies are valuated in PHP. And I dont want to have a hard time converting it to their currency

I'm against marge idea. It'll be too expensive and hard to keep it, especially with this regions that we have hare(small military power+small population=easy to RW).

personally I don't care who heads the merger...but sone will say that's because I don't have RL ties to the region. However I argue that I am eFilipino and have been now for so months. I've gave time, RL money/gold and time to help rebuild, build and strengthen the country.

A name to me is not very important, what is important is how beneficial this could be for all three countries. More workers, stronger military, more active players, more discussion/planning, more voters, stronger economy and a diverse community.

Go with it; our country by any other name would still be beast. However, in considering logistics, we should indeed consider how many active companies each country has (and how many of them already have export licenses to the conquering country).

I voted NO, We should not let other country rule our country under their name. there are lot of options we can do to conquer countries.

The issue here is not that we could not take on Malaysia. That is already a definite that we cannot win without much resources and energy, as well as having to deal with an unwilling population if we do it forcibly. Does anyone remember any of the occupied nations under PEACE? They all eventually went free, and their conquering nation really got nothing out of it in the long run.

The issue, however, is whether or not we would be okay being under someone else--Malaysia or Singapore. Would you be okay with there not being a 'Philippines' on the map, even if we are alive under another friendly community? Could we co-exist peacefully?

I believe so. We are stronger than a name. We are stronger than parties. We are stronger than our citizenship. We have been beaten down by Indonesia multiple times, but we always come back, because we have each other and friends around the world that stand with us.

First, thanks for participating in the discussion.

I believe this poll is created to know, if we are willing to be under Malaysia or Singapore if we will have a merger.

Since if you will know, there had been talks that we will have a merger and ePH will be the country who will eat the other two.

But of course, some citizens of eMY and eSG don't want that their country's name will be replaced by ePH and at the same time, some are willing.

And looking at the result of this poll, I think we also have the same sentiments as eMY and eSG.

We are not really at war with other countries, we are just looking for some possibilities to make a our 3 countries united as one, and have a bit force to protect our selves.

I agree that a political solution is needed before a merger can even take place.

So far in this thread, it has been said that that "name" does not matter, or not supposed to. I agree. It would not matter whether it would be under a eMY, or eSY, although SEA under eSY seems a little odd and ironic to me if you consider RL histories of eSY.

Political leadership is up in the air. However there should be a note of caution for whoever is the first leader of SEA saying something like: Don't Screw Up.

However, there has not been much talk about the economic aspect of this merger.

Not free market, but rather the govt. controlled Orgs of the ePH...If we merge, we are technically under the authority of the CP of the SEA, right? So will the CP of SEA decide what happens to DOHA, not to mention each countries' previous National Bank? Or is there some other committee that will do that?

And are we willing to take the risk of committing our govt. controlled orgs into such unknown territory?

Because this merger will only work if everybody is totally committed to this. There can be no side parties or special exceptions which will detract from the point of the merger. Everybody needs to be working from the same template, otherwise this will have been an exercise in futility.
