"Omni" means "all" in latin so saying omniperson wouldn't make sense.
However omniawesome would make "all-awesome" which makes perfect sense 8)

Anyway Americans were too lazy to make up their own language. They just change the odd word.

ummmmm.....I am not a decendant of those people....my family lines don't begin in the USA until well into the late 1800s early 1900s, unless you count the Cherokee tribe...but they were natives so they didn't really migrate....

They use latin for classification because most of the worlds languages are based on latin so it makes sense to have latin names for stuff.
