Periodization of ePhilippine History Empty Periodization of ePhilippine History

Periodization, or dividing, Philippine History is a key factor in order for us to understand our nation's experience better. An example of periodization is that of the real Philippines which goes like this: 1. Pre-History, or Pre-Hispanic, 2. Spanish Era, 3. The Philippine Revolution, 4. Filipino-American War, 5. American Period, 6. Commonwealth Republic, 7. Japanese Occupation and World War Two, 8. The Third Republic, 9. Martial Law, 10. People Power, 11. EDSA II, and 12. Contemporary Philippines.

That is an example of Periodization. Now, for our situation, using ideas from World History and those used already by eHistorians, like the one in Erepublik Wiki, Here is my suggestion:

1. Pre-Historic, or Pre-Creation - This is the time before the creation of the islands.
2. Early Republic - the stage of populating the islands, the Filipino War against Interventionist forces (we can't call it a war really for it was a PTO which is relatively peaceful, but we can't call it an insurrection for calling it such means we were rebelling against them When were we their colony?) up to the First Congressional elections and First Presidential Election
3.Age of Political Takeovers - this we know the most. Bunally administration and Impeachment. Blitz's term. The interlude between and Secta Guru Varnish occupation.
4. Independence (or Contemporary ePhilippines) - Flight of the Guru Varnish. Leaps by the 3 termed Administration of Big Boy Bulley. Hazzn's election.

There is how I propose we split eHistory. Of course it can be changed. What is its importance? Well, you can now refer to an event either as during the Age of Political Takeovers, or Age of PTO, or the Varnish Occupation. Such and such.

It is very Important that we know where we are and where we were during the long history of our young country (that phrase looks like a paradox)

Is it possible to make a list of articles that chronicles important events?

It's like a series of articles from different authors who were writing about those events as they were happening. This way the reader gets to follow the "flow" of the story and somehow see the prevailing atmosphere at the time.

Quick example: "Varnish Occupation"

A series of articles on....

....it was first noticed that Spaniards took over the Nationalista(?) party.
....first postings of the Spaniards
....ELyzza Carrell-Crio Genio Incident (was Crio temp banned over this?)
....Congressional Elections
....Congress Proposals Battles
....Spanish Exodus
....The Aftermath

We could choose those articles that best describe the events of the times. And maybe add a few comments to give context to the issues being discussed. It will be like a time machine, transporting the reader back to that time.
