ePhilippine History Project

Simply put, I am looking at putting together a definitive compendium of ePhilippine history, as much as I can get my hands on, from the birth of the nation until the end of the Aren presidency, or to whomever the last President's term was once it gets to the finishing point. Simply put, if you're old and have a good memory, post here and let me know so that we can arrange some questions that I can't quite gleam from the wiki. Of course, you will be included in the credits and directly referenced in the work, which should hopefully be out in a month or two.

I am looking at a serious work--this will be as detailed as it can be as it charts our entire national history with over 2 years of intrigue, and thus will probably reach quite a length.

Would anyone actually be interested in reading this once I finished it, though, as well? So give me your thoughts on that

I really can't add too much at this point in ePH's history, since I was a total noob when the Secta descended on us.

I'd just like to comment on something:

Not really.

Apinyaku and I started KMP mainly to combat the Secta, or at the very least annoy them. We were planning to TO their party in the May 2009 PP elections, to make it harder for them to field candidates in future elections. Sure, they could put up another party, but it will cost them 20g (considerable amount at the time in ePH). However, 2 days before the PP elections, they left. So we just took command of their party, and renamed it KMP.

We were HIGHLY disappointed with the PFF and FPM during the Secta days. The two parties were still bickering when the Secta quietly moved in and settled here. They still didn't get their acts together during the April cong'l elections when the Secta threat became a reality. I think you and Rageldo Dimagiba got the lion's share of the votes, which could have been deployed to other trustworthy candidates, if there was any semblance of cooperation between PFF and FPM. In contrast, the Secta was very organized and spread their votes to their candidates, enabling them to get 50% (?) of congress.

The days that followed were both interesting and infuriating. Articles were published to taunt both sides. And the comments sections in those articles spawned passionate, and sometimes hilarious, postings. I definitely agree that the Secta episode galvanized the Brit-Pinoy alliance that led to organizing an effective, working government that was the seed of what we have today. Personally, it got me involved in Politics, which was never part of my plans - I'm a businessman from the very start.

Come the next congressional elections (May 2009), the KMP won around 12 seats "from out of nowhere" (Reclusive Monkey's words, referring to KMP), and that's when PFF and FPM took notice of us. We got wind that there was a plan among the "old timers" to infiltrate and control KMP. At the very least, know what we're all about. I believe Rageldo was the assigned spy, but we were ready for this (and him), and were waiting for their move. It never happened, which was a good thing, since it would have caused further damage to the Pinoy community.

The KMP was not that concerned about the collusion of PFF and FPM. It's how things are at the time, and we have no problem with that. We were more concerned if the Brits (FPM) would really hand over the gov't orgs and companies, if ever they are not in power anymore. Fortunately, our fears proved to be unfounded and the transition (during your CP term) went smoothly.

So what happened next, Gramps (Ariel)?

While I can't say I can rebut or concur with Nikko's side of the story, it's a good thing that we have someone on the inside (Nikko) who can fill in the gaps of my story.

I will definitely take Nikko at his word that he co-founded the KMP not as a nationalist reaction to PFF warming up to the FPM. Nonetheless, what Nikko quoted me as saying genuinely reflected what I had initially felt at that time.

Let me explain. From my perspective, having no knowledge of a forming proto-KMP power bloc, KMP the party came AFTER the Secta departed, when cooperation between FPM and PFF was already well under way. I guess, at the least, KMP had the misfortune of arriving at the scene at the most questionably possible point in time. xD
It even prompted the PFF to plant a spy among your ranks just to get some recon on you.

Speaking of which, how did you get the jump on Rageldo? Are you familiar with the Inner Circle? I might be willing to share more if you answer. If it's too sensitive let's PM or IM. xD

Also, Nikko, can you speak as you are now for the majority of the members of the KMP back then?

I personally knew some in the KMP who were vehemently nationalist, who resented "non-Pinoy" rule, and told me so. Would you discount the possibility that, seeing as the PFF had appeared to shed it nationalist accoutrements by colluding with the FPM, by receiving Cabinet appointments (I think Prince Terence was the first non-FPM foreign affairs minister), that these nationalists saw the KMP as the one faction to fill up the nationalist vacuum left by the pre-Secta PFF?
